Story and Values

luxury Lapland experiences

Born from the peace of the wilderness

Mahlakaarro's Korpiratsu started in October 2024, when life took us from the city to the country.
The move wasn't just a change of address, it was a complete change of direction.

Previously, my business was heavily focused on photography and horses were above all my beloved hobby. When I got horses in my own stable, on my own land and in my own everyday life, something fell into place. The stable business began to emerge almost unnoticed. It grew from the need to do things in my own way and with respect for the well-being of the horses.
The reception has been warm and even surprisingly enthusiastic. Regular visitors come to the stable from far away, and the community around it is constantly growing. Still, the most important thing is not growth, but that everything is done on the horses' terms

Our value

Safety
Calm and proactive action with both horses and people.

Respect
A horse is a living creature with its own feelings and needs. At the same time, we respect each customer as an individual.
Individuality

Every rider, visitor and horse is encountered as their own person.

Closeness to nature
Our activities take place in a peaceful enviroment rounded by northern forests, listening to the rhythm of nature.

Small-scale
We do not aim for masses, but for meaningful encounters.

My journey with horses

In 2019, my friend and I acquired our first horse together. There were many challenges along the way, but it was through them that I learned a lot, especially about horse behavior and how they express pain and discomfort in different ways.
My own horses taught me to understand horses deeper than the surface. Previously, I had focused more on performance, riding and training, without a real understanding of the horse's experience. This realization changed my thinking permanently.
In 2022, I bought my first completely own horse, Kirijori. That began a journey that still continues.
In 2023, Kamu joined the herd, and later Kuu, and together we moved to our current home in 2024.
At the beginning of 2025, I had to give up Kamu, but in the summer of the same year, Viljami joined our family. Every horse has taught me something valuable and I believe that learning never ends in this sport. That's what makes horses and this work so meaningful.

Training and continuous learning

I have deepened my knowledge by studying social pedagogical equine activities in 2025. At the beginning of 2026, I also started farrier studies.
I have also participated in several courses related to, among other things:
horse health
saddles and equipment
training
massage
I consider continuous learning and an open mind important so that I can offer horses the best and most comprehensive well-being possible.
