Our friend

Welcome to visit our horses and activities at Puhoskylä in Pudasjärvi!

Kirjori "Kiri"
Kiri is a Finnish horse gelding born in 2017. Kiri is suitable for both adults and children. He is sensitive by nature but always tries to listen to his rider. Kiri has an excellent work ethic, which makes him very pleasant to ride.
Kiri is an ex-trotter, so he still needs a lot of support from the rider in canter work. He has big, expressive gaits, which makes him less suitable for very small riders at faster paces. However, at the walk he carries riders gently “from babies to grandparents.” Kiri is a reliable trail horse and follows others steadily like a train.
During grooming, Kiri stands calmly and can be handled by people of all ages.

Fullmåne Foss "Kuu"
Kuu is a Fjord horse gelding born in 2019. He is very kind during grooming and enjoys giving kisses to his handler, but as a young horse he still requires patience from those working with him.
When ridden in the arena, Kuu is kind but still somewhat inexperienced, so he is not suitable for beginners without assistance. However, he is excellent for lead-line riding, where he remains calm and safely carries even the smallest riders. Kuu loves trail riding the most, and in the forest he suits riders of all levels, moving confidently through terrain like an experienced horse.

Ohton Jalo-Viljami "Viljami"
Viljami is the newest addition to our stable—a Finnish horse gelding born in 2016, who arrived in early July 2025. As he was gelded later in life, some stallion-like traits can still be observed.
Viljami is very kind and pleasant to handle. He enjoys cooperating with people and is an approachable horse. Under saddle, he offers soft and steady gaits and approaches learning with humility and openness. His strong work ethic makes him an excellent partner for both everyday riding and hobbies.
At the moment, Viljami is not used in customer activities and is currently working only with the stable’s own team.

Belouga du solier "Pekko"
Pekko is a Comtois gelding born in 2012 and kept at our stable on a livery arrangement—possibly the kindest horse in the world. He is also used in customer activities and is a versatile and reliable partner both under saddle and in driving.
When ridden, Pekko safely carries riders of all ages and moves steadily and confidently on trails. He also pulls carts, and in winter he takes part in sleigh rides at a gentle pace.
Pekko is known for his exceptionally calm and friendly nature and is a favorite among visitors. While his heavy build means he may not be the most spectacular dressage horse, he offers a safe and steady ride—and even his canters in the forest are smooth and enjoyable.

Silverleaf´s Poco Pine "poco"
Poco is a gelding born in 2010, a cross between a warmblood and an Irish Cob, and is also kept at the stable on a livery arrangement. He is a versatile and reliable horse who is used in customer activities.
Poco works in lessons with riders of all levels, participates in trail rides with more experienced riders, pulls sleds and carts, and handles other stable duties with a calm and dependable attitude.
Poco came to us to fill the space left by the late Kamu, whom he resembles in many ways. He is wise, calm, and a true schoolmaster, allowing riders to develop safely. He is trained to Easy A level in dressage and has also competed in higher-level show jumping classes in his younger years.

VALLAK "KAMU" 2006-2025 🤍
Kamu – the heart of our flock
Kamu was the leader of our flock until Easter 2025. We had to say goodbye to him then, when the pain of old age became too much. Kamu left behind a huge void – he will be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He was a true gentleman who won hearts with his gentleness and charisma.
